TJHoldem gets slapped, CTSWPT gets in!! - Denver Poker Forums

What a day, Went up the hill with CTSWPT (Chad) and battled it out in the Heartland Poker Tour Qualifier yesterday. I have been playing pretty well for the last couple of months and was pretty confident going into the qualifier.

Chad and I started at different tables. As players fell, CTSWPT (Chad) was moved not only to my table.....but to my left. NOOOO!!!!!! Anyway, had a good chip stack at the time, but then the movie Rounds replayed!!! With Chad on my left, and one of the chip leaders to his left, and I have the Big Blind, I come up with A-9 suited. Chip leader bets 1500, I call. Flop comes 9A9.....FLOPPED ME THE BOAT!!!! 2nd NUTZ!!!! I bet 2500 and chip leader goes all in... I call. I GOT HIM NOW.....DOUBLE UP TIME and it will put me in a great position to make the top 14 to qualify......................................... NOT!!!!!

I look at the board and instantly say "I flopped the boat!" Then, Teddy KGB showed up and started flashing his pocket Aces.................... and.......... I am OUT!!!!! CTSWPT just shook his head in awe as I quietly gave congrats and walked away shaking my head. Wow, go from thinking I have the Power to sulking away with my tail between.

On a more positive note, CTSWPT kept banging away for almost 6 hours and earned his way into the Heartland Poker tour's main event. Chad is on a satallite roll right now... And after his cash at the WSOP this year, my money says this guy will be in the money again. I am assuming Chad will make it to Sunday, and when he does, the wife and I are going to head up and cheer him on!!!!!! (really, only so we get our mugs on tv. : )

Another side note, although Chad earned the ticket, I did make $900.00 on the Black Jack Tables!!!!! What a great day!!!

That was brutal, and I even knew he had AA or KK from the way he bet it pre-flop...........

So sad.
But I will try to win one for the DP.com-ers.

Busted.....
I was on a freeroll at 9pm after I went all in against a guy who had AT and I held A9, and I rivered a 9.....

But about 30 mins later I went all in against AK with 99 and the flop came A67. Even after a lady at the table said "I folded an Ace".....as the Ace appeared as the door card.......
The turn gave me some hope as it was an 8, so I added 8 outs to my 2 9s.....but the river was a Jack and I was out.

Oh well, you have to get lucky and win races to win those tournaments, and I only was able to do one of those........

I'll stick to the cash games up there at this point.

Funny side note, my last hand at the WSOP this year was 99 vs A7 and the flop came Q77...........I'm starting to not like 99 right now......................

Next time, don't even think about it...... TOSS THEM OUT AND RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!!! : )
